This is the email i received from one of the cpa networks and i think it will be nice if i share it, the article will be a guide to running a successful ad campaign being it promoting your cpa offer, your info product, blog/website.
Do you have a campaign in profit, but it is still not hitting those massive ROI numbers you have heard about? Of course, any profit is good news, but where do you go next? How do you scale a campaign to maximize your earnings? Here are a few ways you
can improve any campaign once you have optimized to the point of profit.
1. Never Stop Testing. This one should be obvious, but many people are content to move on to new things once they have a campaign in profit. Adding new offers, or shifting focus somewhat is fine, but at least ensure you're monitoring the successful campaign and, if possible, make a plan to continue testing new variables. If it feels like a drag to work on something that seems already "finished" make a schedule and stick to it between other tasks. Another approach is to treat new clusters of variables like whole new campaigns. Sure, it would be nice to kick back and let the money roll in, but why not work a little to improve the flow?
2. Find Related Offers. Most times, a profitable campaign is a great indication that you understand at least something about your demographic. Take a look at who you're targeting with your successful campaign and work out what other offers that group might be interested in. Another similar approach is to look for offers that your non-buyers might take. If you are converting 4 users in 10 with your successful promotion, that leaves 6 people who are in your target group who did not convert; you should work harder to convert them by testing other variables, but at the same time you can find other offers that might be more to their liking. Depending on your promotion methods, you may be able to set up several offers in sequence. This way, for example, you can take those 6 potential customers who didn't take your iPhone offer (maybe they have one already), and give them a chance at an iPad. Don't let them get away; one way or another you paid for that traffic, so you may as well make the most of it!
3. Enhance Your Demographic Targeting. The obvious way to optimize a campaign is to focus on a demographic and tune your promotion to convert that narrow group like crazy! What begins as a campaign for a dating offer, for example Dating - Cupids Wand (US, UK, CA, AU, NZ), quickly becomes a US dating offer focused on a fairly specific group, for example, US single males 25-27 years old seeking women and interested in beach volleyball. When your targeted group starts to convert it's easy to forget that virtually the same group may work in the other regions the offer covers. You may be able to duplicate your exact campaign and drop it right into another country the offer works for, or you may need to find a very similar offer for the new country. This can be one of the easiest ways to scale.
4. Be A Packrat! I never promote the same dating offer to women & men in the same way; their interests are too different. This means when I begin with an offer I'm cutting out a bunch of traffic. Don’t forget to come back to that group! Maybe with another angle women will eat it up just like the men are doing. Likewise, as I narrow down regions that respond well to my initial promotion angle, I'll discard other regions that don't respond to that particular approach. Keep a record of these discarded regions and come back to them. Many times, especially if you have eliminated a slice of a demographic late in the optimization process, you will know a lot about them. Don't waste your research! They didn't work for your initial angle, but perhaps you can alter your approach and make a new campaign more suited to them. With experience you will develop ways to note these segments of your market that you have eliminated with ideas for other offers that may fit so you can come back to work on them.
Always promote diversifying your portfolio of campaigns, so that your earnings do not rely too much on any one offer, demographic or even vertical, but at the same time, it is critical to your success to be able to scale those winning campaigns to the sky! Nothing tastes as sweet as a profitable promotion, except for an even MORE profitable promotion. Take action now: every hour you wait to scale your campaign is another hour of losing money!
